J. Frank Mixer (1859-1934)

Frank Mixer was Somerville's best known theatre manager. He ran the Union Square and Day Street Olympia for twelve years before joining the Locatellis at the Ball Square. Like John Locatelli and Arthur Pearson, he was also an alderman and the member of numerous clubs and organizations, including the Elks, Masons, Odd Fellows, and Central Club. Still managing the Ball Square in 1934 at the age of 75, he was killed when a car struck him as he left the theatre to mail a letter across the street.
